Consider experiences away from the Casale too, to visit and enjoy cities and villages in the nearby area. This is a perfect opportunity to see and learn more about Italy and the culture (and the beauty!). See below for examples of tours offered.
WALKING TOUR
OF GIOVE VILLAGE
+ Possible Medieval Castle tour and glass of wine (or gelato) in the piazza
Giove is the village directly above the Casale. You can see its imposing white Castle at the very top, if you gaze uphill from the Casale. The Castle is privately owned and every so often, it is open for private tours. If your holiday at the Casale falls during the Castle’s tour dates, we will absolutely visit it together! The rest of the lovely village of Giove is also on our itinerary for this walking tour experience. The narrow streets and the sweeping views are impressive. We will visit the historic center of the village as I share its history and curiosities. If available during our visit, we may be able to enter 1 or 2 ancient dwellings-turned-private-apartments to show you how ancient places can be transformed into “modern” living quarters. Then, we will end our walk with a lovely glass of wine and/or a gelato. You will love little Giove! About 2 hours from 4pm to 6pm

Let’s go to the Lake! MEDIEVAL CASTLE TOUR WITH VILLAGE WALK + LUNCH
Lake Bracciano is where my grandfather is from and where I lived for years. It is just a 1 hour drive from the Casale towards Rome. The Lake is a circular volcanic lake with 3 villages set around it. The village we will visit is Bracciano, with its imposing castle where Hollywood stars, such as Tom Cruise, had their weddings. The castle offers expertly guided tours which we will enjoy as well. We will then have a lovey lunch in the village (also included) followed by a peaceful stroll through the medieval historic center, before returning to the Casale in the afternoon. You’ll follow us by car to Bracciano and we will accompany you on the journey. A beautiful day trip for all to enjoy! About 6 hours from 10am to 4pm

TOUR + LUNCH
+ Train tickets from the Casale to Roma Termini and back are included (as well as tour guide, street food and lunch)
The Casale is only 1 hour away from Rome via train. The train station is conveniently located just 5 minutes away from the Casale in the village of Attigliano. We will provide you with the round-trip train tickets to Rome and back We will travel by train together from Umbria to Rome, where we will begin our walk around key neighborhoods where traditional Roman foods are still being served. Along the walk, we will talk about the history and architecture of my beautiful city. We will taste 2 or 3 typical street food items and will end our culinary experience with a light family style lunch (and wine of course). We will then take the train back to the Casale in the early afternoon. Join us for this fabulous day trip to Rome! About 7 hours from 9:30am to 3:30pm
